A mysterious alien artifact has been recovered and brought to a top-secret research facility in the Black Mesa. When newcomer Dr. Gordon Freeman is assigned to physically test the artifact, things go very wrong when the artifact opens a destructive and unstable portal to Xen, a planet in a different dimension. Gordon blacks out, and awakes in a now crippled and ruined research facility. When Freeman and the survivors of this ordeal discover the portal has allowed its inhabitants-deadly alien creatures-to enter the facility, they realize that they must call the government for help. You play Gordan Freeman, a research scientist who participate in material testing in the massive Black Mesa Research Complex. However, something goes horribly wrong in one experiment that creates an inter-dimensional rift that devastates the complex. When Dr. Gordon Freeman, a scientist who is a research associate at the Black Mesa Facility in New Mexico, is assigned the task of helping out the scientists in the Anomalus materials lab with an experiment, things go horribly wrong when the artifact gets jammed into the emitters and opens a portal to Xen, an alien planet where an infestation has begun on t! he facility. As, Gordon Feeman, you must fight your way to the! surface from the laboratory you started in, to the lambda complex on the other end of the facility, to teleport to Xen and stop the infestation of aliens. Along the way you will need to pick up weaponry such as close quarter weapons, pistols, machine guns, shotguns, crossbows, experimental weapons, and explosives. You will encounter many aliens, who bite, shock with electric current, shoot, and even poison you. And if things weren't bad enough, you have the military to try and kill anyone associated with the project and the aliens themselves. In Half-Life, you play as Gordon Freeman. Freeman has just began his career in the Anomalous Materials division at the enormous, underground Black Mesa Research Facility in New Mexico. Coincidentally, the facility gains control of a mysterious alien artifact, and ! open an interdimensional rift with an alien world, throwing the facility into disarray. Freeman must call for military aid, but in the process ends up summoning the US marines...and they dont want to just kill aliens, they want to kill all the personnel associated with Black Mesa! He is forced to shoot, smash and climb his way through ruined labs, abandoned missile silos, and vast surface areas to escape from the military, and Black Mesa!
